Mother Tongue Writers is a translation agency specialising in the creative adaptation of advertising and marketing copy (transcreation).
We are looking for an experienced German-English checker/editor/advertising translator/copywriter.

There are three main aspects to the job:
1 – Checking of English copy that has been translated from German by other English writers (both in-house and freelance writers). This involves checking for accuracy, spelling, grammar, consistency, format and, above all style, and we are looking for someone who has an excellent eye for detail, consistency and a thorough approach.

2 – Editing/rewriting/copywriting of English copy that has been written by non-native speakers. This will require the ability to revise English copy so it reads like it was written by a native speaker.

3 – Translation from German to English of various types of copy, from press ads and TV scripts to press releases, web copy and brochures. We are looking for someone who has outstanding writing skills in English, with excellent German – meaning you are able not only to translate from German to English, but to craft English copy in such a way that it does not appear to be a translation.
