English & Study Skills sessions for international and EU students

The EFL Unit is pleased to announce the new session of English & Study Skills classes for International and EU students beginns Monday 24 January for eight weeks.

International and EU students at GU have the opportunity to attend English improvement classes in Writing, Speaking and Pronunciation (see below).

Registration begins 14th February at the Language Centre Office (Hetherington Building) and online at http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/orgdev/ess/

SUPPORT FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE

In-sessional English Classes

  • 1½ hrs x 8 weeks, Mon–Thu, 11 October – 3 December
  • classes in Speaking & Listening, Pronunciation, Writing (Students can choose to attend two out of the three classes per week)

Register at the EFL office from Tuesday 28 September 2010
Cost: £5 admin charge or £80 / subject (for exchange / external students & staff)

Essay Checking Service

  • 2 weeks’ advanced notice
  • £8.00 per hour
  • approval from your department may be required

Language Centre Library

English and study skills classes

WHAT
8 x 1½ hour sessions in Speaking and Listening, Pronunciation, Writing.

WHERE & WHEN
17.00–18.30; location and days of particular classes to be confirmed: check with the Language Centre office or the website at http://www.glasgow.ac.uk/services/languagecentre/efl/in-sessionalcourses.

REGISTRATION
From Thursday 14 January at the EFL Unit office, in the Hetherington Building. Please register as soon as possible as classes may become full.

FEES
For students paying overseas fees of over £6000: you can choose 2 classes per Block. The classes are free but there is a £5.00 administration charge.
Other students / visiting staff / external students: £80 for one class per 8-week Block (incl. administration).
