Nigrian cultural awareness session for staff

The Careers Service owes a BIG thank you to Kemi Hauwah and Ayo Ogedengbe who gave up their time recently to prepare a Nigerian cultural awareness session for members of staff! Kemi and Ayo provided a fascinating insight into their homeland. They included lots of facts and figures about the government, the economy, main religions and languages. We were also introduced to the Super Eagles and Obudu Cattle Ranch! If that wasn't enough Kemi and Ayo also took the trouble to model traditional Nigerian dress. Many thanks guys!
These kinds of presentations help Careers Service staff to understand much more about the background and expectations of our international students enabling us, we hope to provide a better service.
If any other students wish to deliver similar presentations to staff they should contact Jim Campbell, International Careers Adviser (careers@admin.gla.ac.uk)

Presentation by KCA DEUTAG Drilling Limited, 13.00 on 30 April

Want to earn £30k + bonus + benefits?

On the 30th of April from 13.00-14.00 KCA DEUTAG Drilling Limited will be delivering a presentation about their graduate opportunities in rooms 402 and 403 of the Fraser Building. The company has expressed an interest in receiving applications from international students.

KCA DEUTAG’s highly successful and sustained growth strategy requires high calibre graduates from a variety of disciplines to grow and develop into our future leaders. We look for motivated, ambitious graduates who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and have aspirations to complement this with technical competence, business skills and practical experience.

Our challenging and fast paced graduate development programme provides a combination of technical and practical experience through operational field tours, and business development exposure via functional project assignments. This is supported by a structured programme of theoretical learning and training, tailored to suit the specific needs of each graduate.

The programme includes assignments and projects across KCA DEUTAG’s worldwide operations presenting significant opportunities for our graduates to work in a range of challenging environments and experience different cultures. The operational field tours will require prolonged periods away from ‘home’ working in remote areas and often in harsh conditions. The functional assignments will be spread across a range of business disciplines to provide rounded business skills and develop generalist business competence.

We offer a unique proposition which tests and pushes our graduates to the limit, but never overstretched beyond their capabilities. The blended approach to learning and development provides our graduates with a vast range of experience and competencies, and equips them with essential leadership skills to become rounded, resilient and capable leaders.

We offer a competitive compensation and benefit package which includes an attractive starting salary and is complemented by progression-based increments.

We are currently accepting applications for our 2009 in-take. If you are interested in joining us then please visit www.kcadeutag.com/jobs for more information, and to apply online.
