The Careers Service is once more running an Interview Academy for GU students and graduates. The Interview Academy is a 2-day training course on interview technique. Day 1 of the course consists of lots of informal interview practice with intensive coaching from a careers adviser, a media consultant and an English as a Foreign Language tutor. Day 2 features practice interviews with real graduate employers. Participants can take away recordings of their interview practice on DVD.
The next Interview Academy takes place on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd of April 2009.
The main aims of the course are as follows:
• To provide tips on how to prepare for interviews
• To increase confidence and fluency in conducting interviews in a second language
• To increase familiarity with the kind of questions to be faced in an interview
• To raise awareness of how to conduct oneself during the interview
• To give students practice of interviews
• To give interview feedback to the interviewees and share learning points.
There are only 12 spaces on each academy so register early to avoid disappointment. You can book a place at:
